Rare albino zebra with blonde tail and mane spotted with black and white herd
An albino zebra needs to earn its stripes after its striking blonde hair stood out next to its black and white friends.
Abdelrahman Hassanein was leading a tour through the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya, when he spotted a herd of zebra peacefully grazing nearby.
Stunning footage captured the reason why he stopped his jeep when he normally wouldn’t, as one of the animals had an extremely unusual complexion.
Not only were the albino zebra’s stripes almost washed out to a faint white, its mane and tail appeared to be more yellow compared to the rest of the herd’s jet black hair.
Abdelrahman said: “I was really surprised to see the animal. Its strange markings really made it stand out from the rest of the herd.
“I was on safari with guests when I noticed herd of zebra nearby. Normally we don’t stop too long for zebras but I noticed the albino one which made us stay.
“It was so unique to see. We followed it for a while then moved along. I haven’t seen it since.”
