A Turkish expert hailed China's growing role in supporting inclusive global development as a founding member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Akkan Suver, head of the Istanbul-based Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation, made the remarks in a recent interview with Xinhua.

"China's role in the development of the countries in the region is global. It has reached an international dimension. Especially under the Belt and Road Initiative, the activity of China not only in the Eurasian region but also in Europe and Latin America, as well as on the African continent, is manifested in the projects and services it has put forward in terms of engaging in tangible and visible investments and cooperation."

Suver also highlighted China as a leading actor in building a closer community with a shared future.
