Landlord's shock as tenant's rubbish piles as high as windows in China
A landlord was left utterly stunned when he entered the apartment of a female tenant who hadn't taken out the trash for over a year, only to find rubbish piled as high as the window.
Video filmed in the city of Qingdao in Shandong Province on August 10, shows the female tenant sitting among the rubbish to play her phone while a woman was cleaning the rubbish in the room.
The landlord named Xie claimed it was the first time he's ever been overwhelmed by a smell to the point of wanting to vomit. After five gruelling hours of cleaning, the apartment has now been completely cleared and cleaned.
Xie revealed that he had already cleaned up some of the rubbish by the time he filmed the video showing the state of the room. Despite the mess, the tenant usually slept in a small space where she sat.
Xie has given the tenant a few days to find new accommodation and has received some compensation in return.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
