A cement mixer truck careened out of control, tipping over and crashing into a crowd of electric scooter riders, leaving multiple people injured in southern China.

Dashcam footage filmed in the city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province on August 11 shows, a truck approaching an intersection sped through the red light.

In what appears to be an attempt to avoid a head-on collision with the crowd of electric scooter riders, the driver turned sharply. But due to the high speed and the heavy weight of the cement, the truck lost balance.

The vehicle then crashed down onto the crowd in the middle of the road.

Zengcheng police were quick to dispatch officers to the scene, working in coordination with emergency rescue forces and medical personnel from the emergency service.

The accident resulted in one severe injury and four minor injuries, all of whom have been taken to the hospital for treatment. The incident is currently under further investigation and handling.

8月11日7时50分许，广州增城中新镇新墩路路段发生一起搅拌车侧翻导致群众受伤的交通事故。增城警方接报后迅速派员到场处置，会同应急救援力量和“120”医护人员救助伤者。事故共造成1人重伤、4人轻微伤，均已送往医院接受治疗。目前，事故正在进一步调查处理中。
