A motorcycle collision ignited a blaze during a circus performance in northern China.

Dramatic video filmed in Jinzhong City in Shanxi Province on August 29, shows two motorcycles crashing during a performance inside a steel globe, causing the cage to be consumed in flames.

As panic spread, the audience rapidly evacuated. One of the riders plummed to the ground but the other motorcycle performer continued his dizzying ride on the cage walls.

Swiftly, the crew on the ground retrieved fire extinguishers to combat the blaze. Within a tense 20 seconds, an emergency door at the base of the cage was opened, allowing the fallen performer to scramble out, as the fire was successfully extinguished.

The injured performer was hurriedly carried to safety by the bystanders.

The Shanxi Wujin Mountain Tourist Area detailed the incident, which occurred at 4:05 pm during the "Five-Nation Royal Circus" performance.

The company swiftly initiated their emergency plan, with on-site staff promptly putting out the fire and guiding all visitors to safe zones. The injured performer was rushed to the hospital.

Thanks to their quick actions, the fire was subdued in just over ten seconds, and by 4:10 pm, all attendees had been safely evacuated.

The performer suffered abrasions on his leg and arm but was not in life-threatening condition. There were no casualties or damage to nearby structures and visitor property.

Authorities have now instructed the tourist area to temporarily close for rectifications.

8月30日，山西乌金山旅游区就此事发布声明：2023年8月29日16时05分，山西乌金山旅游区五国皇家大马戏演出表演环球飞车节目时，出现意外失误发生火灾。公司当即启动演出应急预案，现场工作人员第一时间使用灭火器消灭现场火源，同时将剧场内所有游客疏散并指引至安全区域进行有序撤离，及时将受伤演员送至医院进行救治。经过十余秒的火灾扑救工作成功扑灭火势，于16:10全部完成现场人员疏散工作，受伤演员已送往医院治疗，该事件未造成人员伤亡，周边建筑物及游客生命财产并未造成损失。
8月30日，晋中市榆次区文旅局一名工作人员回应，骑摩托车的表演者腿部和手臂有擦伤，伤势并无大碍，已去医院处理，相关部门已经要求景区暂停营业，进行整改。
