Adaptable Australian Magpie nest on a power pole contains, wire, plastic as well as sticks.
Australian Magpies (Gymnorhina tibicen) adapt well to urban environments. This pair of Magpies had chosen to nest on a power pole at Emu Point in Albany on the south coast of Western Australia. Their nest is mainly constructed from sticks, but it also contains bits of wire and plastic items. The male Magpie (with a white back) perched on the powerline close to the nest, while the female settled on the nest to brood their eggs.
