A baby python flapped around in the wind on a car bonnet while the driver travelled on a motorway.

Footage shows the 3ft-long serpent waggling while clinging at the nose of the moving vehicle in Chonburi province, Thailand on April 10.

It stayed on the spot for less than a minute, resisting being blown away while shaking in all directions.

However, the radiated rat snake eventually lost grip and was thrown off into the windscreen before motorist Sathaporn Aodthong was heard screaming.

'I was relieved when it finally came loose,' said the driver.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
