A brave driver picked up a live python blocking the road so it could be safe while they passed through.

The father, who was travelling home with his daughter, pulled over when they found the large reptile in Nonthaburi, Thailand, on June 26.

Footage shows the driver dragging the 8ft-long serpent from the edge of the street and releasing it onto a vacant lot.

They then safely continues their jouney along the dimly lit back road.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
