A wild python slithering on the road slowed down traffic before being rescued by locals.

Footage shows the 5ft-long serpent blocking the path of drivers until it reached the sidewalk, where residents helped capture it in put it in a bag in Chumphon province, southern Thailand, on July 20.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
