Defiant turtle manages to escape EPIC 30-minute attack by saltwater crocodile in Australia
A brave turtle survived an epic 30 minute battle with a huge crocodile before escaping.
Nick Adams was visiting Dundee Beach, Australia, with wife Katie on July 3 when they spotted what they spotted a four-metre-long saltwater crocodile in the sea.
Dramatic drone footage filmed the prehistoric predator gripping on to a turtle in its massive jaws while swimming towards the beach.
After thrashing around in the waves trying to escape the crocodile, the turtle disappeared underwater leaving the crocodile clutching at nothing but the sea.
Nick said: “The crocodile chased it back into the water where they both went under the surface. About five minutes later the croc emerged and the turtle was nowhere to be seen. It must have escaped.
“We were on the beach and thought it was a log, until we saw it swimming and realised it was a croc.
“When we sent the drone up and saw that it was a very large saltwater crocodile. We were filming to for around 30 minutes during which time it brought the turtle to land and fought it for a while before returning to the ocean.
“We’ve never seen anything like it before, we were shocked. It was one of those pinch me moments where we couldn’t believe what we were watching.
“We were so sad for the turtle but also so excited to experience this raw part of nature.”
