These schoolboys avoided their shoes being drenched - by clambering across a wall like Spider-Man.

Footage shows the pupils making their way across the makeshift stone pathway while holding onto a wire fence for balance as the corridor leading to another school building had been flooded with at least five inches of water.

Filmer Laurence Medina said their campus in Batangas province, the Philippines had been hit by heavy rain on September 8.

He said: 'Our only choices were to climb the wall, or risk our shoes being wet. My classmates chose to climb the wall, but I didn't because my socks and shoes had already been drenched. It was inconvenient, but a pretty funny experience.'

The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
