Pupils helped rescue a motorcycle that was being swept away by raging floods through a village.

The youngsters - who were still in their white polo shirt uniform - were on the way home from cancelled classes when a friend asked them for help saving his two-wheeler from the deluge in Davao del Sur, the Philippines, on October 10.

Footage shows the trio running after the motorbike while a concerned neighbour was heard in the background telling them to stop and warning them.

The woman Nikki Constantino was heard saying: ‘Hey, where are you going? What will you do?'

One of the kids answered and called out to her friends. In another video, two older men were pulling the bike through the flood, and the three youngsters helped carry it safely.

The students safely took the motorbike to the village, and no one was hurt.

Philippines weather bureau PAGASA said the bad weather was brought by a low-pressure area that entered the country.

The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season, which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon, leading to widespread flash floods.
