Russia says it fired at Ukrainian military positions using 'Grad' multiple rocket launcher
This footage purportedly shows a Russian multiple rocket launcher 'Grad' firing rockets at Ukrainian military positions.
The military action allegedly took place near the city of Kupiansk, in eastern Ukraine.
Video footage obtained by Newsflash from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on October 30 shows the Russian rocket launcher moving across an empty field area.
Then it repeatedly shoots off towards the sky at unseen targets.
The BM-21 'Grad' is a Soviet-made self-propelled 122 mm multiple rocket launcher. It has a maximum road speed of 47 mph, a road range of up to 470 miles, and can cross fords up to 4 ft 11 in deep.
The Russian MoD said in a statement: 'The artillery units of the Western Military District on the Kupyansk direction, within the zone of a special military operation, continue to carry out firing tasks aimed at hitting the artillery batteries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ammunition depots, destroying camouflaged defensive structures, suppressing command posts, and destroying enemy weapons, equipment, and military vehicles, using tactics of frequent changes of firing positions.'
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
