Two thieves on a motorbike snatched a gold chain from a woman's neck, dragging her to the ground in Hyderabad, Telangana.

CCTV footage from February 9 shows the mother walking down a road with her young child to school.

As two men on a motorbike pass, one of them reaches out and snatches the jewellery from the woman's neck. She is dragged down to the ground by the force of the grab seeing her son also fall over.

According to local police, it is the second incident that has taken place in the area that week.

Two men on a bike snatched a gold chain from a woman in southern India's Telangana.

This incident occurred at the Venkataramana Colony in Ameenpur Municipality, Sangareddy district on February 9.

CCTV footage captured the moment when the assailants committed this act in broad daylight. The woman was walking with a child by her left side when the bike-borne men arrived from the other direction. As soon as they got close to her, the pillion rider stretched out his hand and caught hold of the woman's chain on her neck before giving it a pull. The lady was taken aback and the bike started to speed away, causing her to be dragged for a bit and then have a harsh landing on the road. She fell down face first before getting up with the bike already gone. The little child also fell down and walked up to the woman as they started to venture in the direction of the bike. A man was also seen running in the same direction, seemingly to chase down the bike.

According to a report, a case was registered by inspector Sada Nagaraju of the Ameenpur police station limits and an investigation is currently on. The gold chain was of eight Tula (0.205 lbs). The woman was walking her son to school when this incident took place. This is also the second such incident to have happened in the same week in the area under the aegis of the Ameenpur police station.
