A homeowner remained incredibly calm as a black bear knocked on her glass back door.

Hannah Bowyer was at home in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, USA, on February 22 when a bear suddenly appeared in her backyard on the lookout for food.

Incredible footage showed the 4.5ft tall animal pace towards the house while Hannah watched nervously along with her cat.

After her feline friend decided to run away to safety, the bear knocked on the window in the door with its huge paw while looking inside.

Hannah said: “I was super nervous that he might break the glass and I realised he was looking right at me and I thought maybe I need to get out of sight.

“So at that point I went into the downstairs bathroom and shut the door until I didn’t hear him anymore.

“Everyone in our neighbourhood sees the bear pretty frequently, but no one has gotten video of him literally coming up and touching one of the homes.

“He hung around my house that day for probably about 30 minutes leaving at one point and then coming back.

“He has totally destroyed two other birdfeeders so I wasn’t super happy to see him knocking those over again.”
