A woman inserted her own hair into the dish she ordered to skip the bill at a restaurant in northern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province on March 5.

The woman plucked a handful of her own hair and discreetly dropped it into her bowl of food. Nonchalantly, she began eating. A minute later, she used her chopsticks to fish out the pre-planted hair, calling over a waiter to inspect.

The sight left the waiter bewildered, who promptly reported the incident to the restaurant owner.

According to the restaurant owner, he apologised to the woman and offered her a complimentary meal after discussing the matter. He even provided her with a packed meal identical to the one she had ordered.

It was only later, upon reviewing the security footage, that he discovered the incredulous act. Despite the unsettling discovery, considering the meal was only worth around 30yuan (£3.3), the owner deemed it unworthy of police involvement and chose to let the matter rest.

女子若无其事的开始用餐，一分钟后，她重新用筷子夹起了预先伪装好的头发，并叫过来服务员查看，服务员看到这一幕后感觉有些不知所措，赶紧反馈给了老板。
据餐饮店老板介绍，他事后对女子表示了歉意，经过协商对女子进行了免单，并且给女子赔了一份一样的套餐打包带走。事后，他觉得不对劲，查看监控后才发现了这不可思议一幕。但一份米饭也才二三十块钱，他觉得不值得报警，只好不了了之。
