Cranky elephant knocks over a motorcycle
A cranky elephant knocked over a motorcycle parked on the roadside.
The 50-year-old jumbo named Phi Diao had been wandering the village for three days looking for food in Nakhon Nayok province, Thailand.
When the residents thought he would be returning to his home, he was spotted pushing a two-wheeler he found on the roadside on March 31.
Footage shows the bull wrecking the vehicle and searching it for food, worrying onlookers.
A local approached and hit a wire fence to make noise and scare the animal away, but Phi Diao looked even more annoyed.
Onlooker Jinwimon Mahasup said: 'Everyone thought he was leaving, but he did that.'
As of 2023, there are an estimated 3,084-3,500 wild elephants in Thailand. The population has been increasing in recent years, but it is still a fraction of the estimated 300,000 wild elephants that lived in Thailand at the beginning of the 20th century. The main threats to wild elephants in Thailand are habitat loss and fragmentation, poaching, and conflict with humans.
