LAPD Southwest patrol units were in pursuit of a vehicle for unknown reasons when it collided with a power pole in the 4900 block of South Vermont Avenue.
The impact of the crash severed several power lines causing an outage spanning several blocks.
At least two people were transported to the hospital.
The suspect was apprehended at the scene.
LADWP arrived at the scene to assess the damage.
