Local authorities evacuated residents in a town as a new storm threatened southern China's Shaoguan City on April 24.

The emergency task force deployed seven helicopters and coordinated over 30 buses and vans to evacuate residents. By 4:00 p.m., they had successfully relocated 1,240 people to safety.

Just days earlier, on April 21, Jiangwan Town had suffered multiple landslides triggered by heavy rains, resulting in several homes being buried, and widespread disruptions to water, power, and communications in many villages.

Capitalising on the brief clear weather, emergency teams organised the urgent evacuation of residents, prioritising their safety to avert another potential tragedy as they braced for the impending storm.
