STORYLINE:

Agricultural cooperation between China's Shaanxi Province and the Central Asian countries has grown beyond trade in recent years, expanding to personnel training, seed industry innovation, construction of agricultural parks, and etc.

Abdirakhman Dana is one of students trained by a master's degree program in food science and engineering between China and Kazakhstan in China's Northwest A&F University.

She and other three Kazakh students came to China this March for a year and a half's study.

Recently, the apple seedlings cultivated by China's Northwest A&F University will be shipped to Kyrgyzstan for demonstration planting, which is expected to generate economic benefits within three years.

Besides, a company from Shaanxi plans to invest in a China-Tajikistan friendship apple demonstration park to boost local agricultural talents cultivation and product quality.

"In recent years, we have carried out extensive cooperation with Central Asian countries in agriculture. The import and export volume of grain, oil, and fruits has continued to grow. At the same time, we have made important achievements in agricultural science and technology cooperation, vocational training, and construction of modern agricultural demonstration parks. All these have showcased the great potential of international cooperation between China and Central Asian countries."

In 2023, the total import and export value between Shaanxi and the five Central Asian countries reached 5.79 billion yuan (about 816 million U.S. dollar), marking a leap of 178 percent year-on-year.
