Firefighters saved a food delivery man trapped in deep floodwaters caused by torrential rain in southwestern China.

The video was filmed in Qujing City in Yunnan Province on June 8.

Reports indicate that the torrential rain that evening was both prolonged and intense, resulting in significant flooding across the city centre. At a particularly affected intersection in the Economic Development Zone, the water levels were dangerously high and the currents strong. It was here that a food delivery worker, while en route, lost control of his electric bike which toppled over, leaving him stranded in the floodwaters and unable to free himself.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Qujing City Fire and Rescue Brigade promptly dispatched personnel to the scene. Braving the heavy rain and wading through waist-deep water, the firefighters equipped with lifelines and other rescue gear, painstakingly made their way to the trapped worker.

After ensuring all necessary safety precautions were in place, two firefighters managed to lift the delivery worker from the water and transport him to a safe area.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
