A road in a residential community in western China was littered with an unusually high number of manhole covers.

The peculiar video was filmed in Xining City in Qinghai Province on June 21.

Witnesses described the area as densely packed with these covers, estimating over 100 within their view alone, and suspecting many more lay beyond.

The reason for this abundance remains unclear, with residents speculating it could be linked to ongoing infrastructure work, though official clarification is awaited.
