Bystanders saved a boy trapped in an underwater pipe in eastern China.

Heroic video was filmed in Fuyang City in Anhui Province on June 22. A boy got trapped against an underwater pipe by a strong current after he fell into the water. A group of quick-thinking bystanders mounted a dramatic rescue effort, pulling the child to safety.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the boy was playing by the lake when he accidentally slipped and fell in. The previous day’s heavy rainfall had turned the water turbulent, causing the boy to be sucked against an underwater pipe, unable to free himself. His mother and nearby onlookers quickly raised the alarm as the situation grew increasingly dire.

In a heroic response, two men jumped into the water, attempting to save the child. However, the powerful suction from the pipe made the rescue extremely difficult. More passersby soon joined the effort, disregarding their own safety to work together, gripping the boy tightly and pulling him upwards.

Thanks to their collective bravery, the boy was eventually freed and brought ashore. Remarkably, a medical check revealed that he had suffered no significant injuries.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
