A group of people lifted a large shop sign to free a pedestrian trapped beneath it in southern China.

The video was filmed in Wuzhou City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on August 12.

Two large shop signs from adjacent storefronts fell almost simultaneously, crashing to the ground with tremendous force and trapping a passing pedestrian beneath one of them.

Witnesses quickly sprang into action, with locals rushing to lift the heavy shop sign and rescue the injured pedestrian, who was found unconscious and in critical condition.

Emergency services were promptly contacted, and bystanders helped manage the scene until an ambulance arrived.

Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter, providing immediate medical attention before transporting the injured pedestrian to hospital.

Initial reports indicate that the individual’s vital signs are stable, though further observation and treatment are required.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, focusing on potential issues with the shop sign’s installation, maintenance, and the impact of adverse weather conditions.

Officials have pledged to conduct a comprehensive safety review of shop signs across the district and to enforce stricter maintenance protocols to prevent similar accidents in the future.

The exact cause and responsibility for the incident are still under investigation.
