Two horses were killed after being struck by vehicles on northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Interstate 210 in Sylmar shortly before 9 p.m.
One horse came to a rest on the northbound shoulder and another in the HOV lane.
Good Samaritans saved a third horse using rope and brought it to the shoulder.
Crash under investigation by CHP Newhall office.
