A travel influencer plunged to her death down a 350ft gorge while trying to record a video for her Instagram followers.

Aanvi Kamdar, 27, visited Kumbhe Waterfall with seven friends in Maharashtra, India, on July 16 when she slipped off a wet rock while capturing clips of the beautiful landscape.

Footage shows the video Aanvi was recording as she stepped near the edge of the gorge. Her shoes slipped on a wet rock, and she lost her balance as she slid down the deep gorge.

Her friends called rescuers for help who rappelled down the gorge to rescue her but she was already in critical condition and died shortly after being transported to a hospital in Mangaon Taluka.

A rescuer said: ‘The young woman fell between 300 and 350 ft. The weather and her injuries made the process more challenging.'

The operation took six hours before she was finally extracted from the gorge.

Somnath Gharge, Superintendent of Police in Raigad, said: ‘She died while receiving treatment. After falling into the gorge, she was still alive.

‘She didn't seem to be there at first, but as we got closer, it was discovered that she was breathing. After being saved, she was taken right away to the hospital.'
