Man plunges into river when pier collapses
A man plunged into a river when the pier collapsed while standing on it.
CCTV footage shows the resident stepping on the wooden structure when it crumbled and threw him into the water in Surat Thani province, Thailand on July 18.
The pier was old, and the wood had rotten from the moisture which subsided from his weight.
Fortunately, there was a boat, and the current was not very strong, so he managed to climb onto it for safety.
The man was unhurt and paddled to the riverside before a friend saw him and assisted him to climb.
