Severe and large forest and land fires in West Kalimantan, Indonesia are increasingly spreading, burning approximately 100 hectares.
Hot weather and difficult to reach locations have caused forest and land fires in Rasau Jaya Districts, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, Indonesia to spread further.
The fire team from Rumah Zakat and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) West Kalimantan said the fire grew bigger at exactly midnight on Monday, July 29 2024.
"In the middle of the night, the fire grew. It felt like I couldn't stand being at the location straight away, the fire was big, water was difficult to reach and the condition of the burned land was quite extensive, tonight is a witness to their struggle in the field, pray for them," said Asrul Putra, Manager of Rumah Zakat West Kalimantan.
It is known that apart from Rasau Jaya sub-district, two other sub-districts in Kubu Raya Regency, namely Sungai Raya district and Sungai Kakap district, also experienced forest and land fires.
