Tourist rides electric suitcase along ROAD to airport in Thailand
A tourist was seen riding an electric suitcase along a busy road to reach the airport.
The female holidaymaker sat on top of the pink luggage as she weaved through vehicles during rush hour traffic to reach the Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 22.
Still in holiday mode, she was casually scrolling through her phone while pulling a larger black case behind her.
When she reached a queue of waiting cars near traffic lights, the girl moved across lanes behind a large bus and into the path of several taxis.
Shocker driver Wutthinan, who recorded the video, said: 'I was surprised when I saw a tourist was riding her electric suitcase on the road. I hope she made it to the airport safely as it was pretty busy at that time.'
Electric suitcases with non-removable lithium-ion batteries have been banned in airports in several countries, including Japan, for safety reasons. Transport chiefs have also raised concerns about them being used on public roads.
Lithium-ion batteries can also catch fire or explode, especially when damaged or exposed to certain conditions.
While airport officials believe it is dangerous to have passengers whizzing around the departure lounge on motorised devices.
