STORYLINE:
China and Africa, as partners in the journey of industrialization, possess complementary advantages and substantial potential for industrial cooperation.
In Cameroon's South Region, the second phase of the Kribi Deep Seaport, built by China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC), is in full swing.
The second phase, expected to be completed by year-end, will add two berths to the existing two from the first phase.
Additionally, the government has allocated 15,000 hectares near the port for industrial and logistics parks, attracting multiple factories and logistics companies.
The Kribi-Lolabe Highway, also constructed by CHEC, is Cameroon's first highway built according to Chinese standards and has been operational for nearly two years.
SOUNDBITE 1 (French): HADOMAHA JONAS, Technician, the Kribi-Lolabe Highway
"I came here just as a translator at first. But over time, I've been taught how to deal with some situations, for example, accidents. This is my first time working for a company that operates highways. I've had the chance to learn many, many things about how the highway works."
Over the past decade, China has helped build over 6,000 km of railways, 6,000 km of roads, nearly 20 ports, and more than 80 large power facilities in Africa.
Amid a new wave of global technological revolution and industrial transformation, fostering new quality productive forces has become a key engine for promoting high-quality China-Africa cooperation.
Inside the China-Aid Agriculture Technology Demonstration Center in the Republic of the Congo, machines have helped automatically clean, peel, slice, and grind cassava, an important staple food in Africa.
SOUNDBITE 2 (French): PAUL VALENTIN NGOBO, Congolese minister of agriculture, livestock and fisheries
"We all know if there is one thing we can't deny about the Chinese, it is their willingness to share. The recent cooperation result is the Agriculture Technology Demonstration Center (ATDC). It is the channel through which the transfer of knowledge can take place. China is reliable and credible for us."
Currently, China and Africa are enhancing their exchanges in new technologies, new energy, and new industries. This cooperation is significantly elevating the quality of China-Africa industrial cooperation, nurturing local industrial talent, and promoting sustainable development across the continent.
The Rizhao Polytechnic, located in east China's Shandong Province, commenced its vocational education cooperation with African countries in 2021.
SOUNDBITE 3 (English): APPIAH JEFFREY KORANKYE, Ghanaian student at Rizhao Polytechnic
"I think it opens more opportunities for young Africans, specifically for Ghanaians to come to China to learn about Chinese technology. It's a very nice cooperation that other African countries can also emulate to boost the economy and developments in their country as well."
