Storyline:
Super Typhoon Yagi, the 11th typhoon of the year, made landfall in northern Vietnam on Saturday afternoon, causing widespread blackouts and communications network outages.

The storm hit Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh Province, with severe rainstorms pummeling many places.

Meanwhile, power and network outages hit parts of the country as facilities were damaged by the strong winds and heavy rainfall.

To prepare for the impact of Yagi, the Vietnamese government advised residents in the northern and central regions to stay indoors and reduce outdoor activities on Saturday. Several areas in northern and central Vietnam canceled flights and ordered all boats to return to harbor. In addition, more than 40,000 people have been evacuated and resettled from vulnerable areas.
