This is the terrifying moment a monkey grabbed a cyclist's shorts and refused to let go.

The Tibetan monkey latched onto the young man in the middle of the road in Guangdong, China, on October 8.

Footage shows the seemingly enraged primate clinging tightly to the cyclist. Nearby residents tried to help by offering bananas to calm the animal, but it continued to grip the man's legs.

Moments later, a bystander attempted to bribe the monkey with a packet of biscuits, but the primate swatted it away and made a threatening gesture toward the cyclist.

In the same month, another incident occurred where a monkey attacked a schoolgirl in Hunan.

Monkeys, like many animals, may attack when they feel threatened. Risks from monkey bites include serious wound infections, the herpes B virus, and rabies.
