US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle

10/27/2024 05:00 am (GMT-0700) | BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle/s in Bakersfield early this morning around 5:00 a.m. The crash occurred near the intersection of Panama Lane and State Route 43, about 3 miles west of the highway.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene after receiving multiple reports of the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that another vehicle may have been involved in the collision. One vehicle stayed at the scene.
The Kern County Fire Department also responded, pronouncing the pedestrian dead at the scene. Because the incident occurred within city limits, the CHP later requested the Bakersfield Police Department to take over the investigation.
