US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Hit and Run Leaves Pedestrian Dead on Overpass
Bakersfield, United States - April 23, 2025 04/23/2025 04:00 am (GMT-0700) BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Fire Department, along with Kern County Fire, responded early Wednesday morning to a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian. The incident occurred off the overpass of Chester Avenue into Oildale. Upon arrival, first responders pronounced the pedestrian deceased. The vehicle involved fled the scene before emergency personnel arrived. It is currently unclear whether the pedestrian was walking or riding a bicycle at the time of the incident. The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating the incident.
