Rainbow clouds or iridescent clouds are known to be colored clouds produced by optical phenomena.
Rainbow clouds have a colorful visual appearance with color intensities that resemble a rainbow.
This optical phenomenon is usually observed in lenticular, altostratus, altocumulus, or cirrus clouds near the Sun when sunlight is refracted through small water droplets or ice crystals of fairly uniform size in the clouds.
