Storm Darragh batters SS Richard Montgomery shipwreck off Kent, UK

Strong winds and waves from Storm Darragh were seen battering the SS Montgomery wreck off Kent, UK this evening (December 7).

The SS Richard Montgomery sank 1.5 miles off sheerness back in 1944 with 1,400 tonnes of explosives onboard and has been deteriorating ever since.

Winds gusting to over 50 mph (Gale Force 9) were recorded by a local weather station in the vicinity of the wreck.
