Dozens of buff Thai men who allegedly joined a drug-fuelled gay orgy were arrested by police in Thailand.

The ripped hunks stripped off for the sordid session in a penthouse suite at the S31 Sukhumvit Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 8.

But armed cops were lying in wait and stormed the room mid-way through the romp in the early hours of the morning.

The suspects seen in the video wearing only skimpy underwear to show off their toned figures while police detained them.

Police Colonel Pansa Amarapitak, superintendent of the Thonglor Police Station, said officers received a tip-off about the suspected sex party a couple of days before it happened. They then planned the sting.

He said: 'We learned that those interested had to apply to enter the party via a private social media group. Our undercover agents also applied, but they were rejected.'

Police confirmed that a large group had entered the room early Sunday morning. They then stormed the location and found the naked Thai and foreign 'gay' men, and a few women, dancing to loud music as they drank colourful cocktails from paper cups.

Police said they arrested 124 revellers, including several high-profile figures like a local celebrity, the CEO of a beauty clinic, the CMO of a marketing course website, and a well-known stylist.

Drug tests found that 66 people had taken narcotics. They were charged for consuming hard drugs and have agreed to enter voluntary rehabilitation.

Thirty-one suspects were charged with possessing narcotics.

Authorities seized 70 plastic tubes of liquid ketamine, 0.047 ounces (1.34 grammes) of crystallised ketamine in a sachet, and another 0.03 ounces (0.96 grammes) in a separate packet.

They also found 0.096 ounces (2.7 grammes) of crystal meth in two separate sachets.

Additionally, 31 ecstasy pills, a pack of ecstasy gel, 12 glass bottles containing clear liquid, five syringes, and 20 plastic bags were confiscated.

The police superintendent said: ‘Tomorrow, December 9, the police will summon the suspected drug users to report for mandatory rehabilitation. As for those found in possession of drugs, they will be detained at either the Phra Nakhon Nuea District Court and the Bangkok South Criminal Court according to the charges and quantity of drugs.'

According to Thai law, carrying Category I drugs, including LSD and ecstasy, for 'disposal or possession for the purpose of disposal', has a maximum punishment of the death sentence or life in prison. The most severe punishments are reserved for those who 'produce of import' the substances, while simply possessing the drugs can land offenders in jail for up to 10 years.

Dealing the lesser Category 2 drugs, which include cocaine and ketamine, can carry a life sentence while possession alone has a punishment of five years.
