Masses in Papua, Indonesia set fire to civil service offices as a result of the public servants' announcement of disappointment.

Dissatisfied with the results of the CPNS announcement, the 2024 formation, the BKD Office of Boven Digoel Regency, Papua, Indonesia became the target of mass anger.

On Wednesday 11 December 2024, in the name of job seekers who did not pass the CPNS acceptance selection, they carried out an anarchist action by burning down the BKD office and 1 ceremonial podium at the Boven Digoel Regent's office.

The crowd came to the BKD office carrying a number of sharp tools.

The police were forced to disperse the crowd by throwing warning shots in the air and tear gas to stop the crowd's anarchic actions.

Until now, the Boven Digoel Police are on standby in front of the Regent's office together with BKO Brimob personnel to anticipate further actions, and continue to coordinate with the Regional Government to calm the crowd.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of Police, Commissioner Handoyo Prasetyo, conducted negotiations in front of the Regent's office so that the crowd would not cause damage and convey their aspirations peacefully.

Regarding the damage and arson, the perpetrators will be strictly processed by the Boven Digoel police.
