Two passengers began throwing punches at each other while taking their bags from the overhead compartment on a plane.

The Scoot flight from China had just landed in Singapore when those onboard rushed to retrieve their luggage before leaving.

But the pair clashed over aisle etiquette, with the passenger in a great shirt becoming angry when the man in a black top tried to barge him out of the way.

Footage shows the fists flying as fellow fliers shouted at the men and pleaded for them to stop.

'Stop fighting, there are children here,' one person is heard saying in the video.

Another woman standing near the men can be heard telling them to 'calm down' as the cabin crew arrives to intervene.

A passenger recorded the scrap onboard the Airbus A320 which had flown from the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport to the Singapore Changi Airport on December 24.

They said they were shocked to witness the violence.

The filmer said: 'I've been on many flights and never seen people fighting. Why can't they just be patient?

'There is an etiquette when leaving a plane, just let the person in front of you out first. But these people were rushing, trying to push each other out of the way.'

Low-cost carrier Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, confirmed the incident onboard flight TR135.

A spokesman said: 'While disembarking at Changi Airport, our crew was informed of a conflict between two passengers and intervened to control the situation in accordance with safety protocols.

'There were no further disruptions to the disembarkation process.'
