Terrifying moment planes are rocked as they try to land in extreme 45mph New Years Eve Storm crosswinds at Birmingham Airport
This was the terrifying moment several commercial airliners were thrown around in the sky like a toy's.
Extreme 45mph crosswinds buffeted the aircrafts from side to side as they approached Birmingham International Airport on Tuesday 31 December.
The pilots from easyJet and other airlanes skilfully brought each plane in, some of whom were 'crabbing' a maneuver to bring the plane in sideways into the wind before correcting the route at the last second before touchdown on New Years Eve.
The easyJet plane took off from Edinbrugh and approached the runway but was hit by strong side winds, called crosswinds, which caused the aircraft to violently rock from side-to-side before landing.
Other pilots from aer Lingus and Aurigny Air Services serving both Belfast and Guernsey also struggled as their propeller planes are lighter than jet powered aircraft so are more prone to hair-raising landings.
Two private jet pilots also earned their higher pay grade as their small planes took the brunt of the strong winds.
The Storm has hit mainly Northern parts of the UK with strong wind speeds causing disruption and damage to many areas.
