Murder Investigation launched in Birmingham after man dies from serious injuries inside house, 2 murder arrests

West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 60’s was found with serious injuries inside a terraced property on Warwick Road in the Acocks Green area of Birmingham.

Officers were called to the home at 2.55pm on Saturday (1 February) afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service also sent the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to the scene to provide critically needed first aid.

At least 2 other paramedics and an ambulance crew were also sent to the scene but unfortunately the victim was pronounced dead despite their best efforts.

Later in the evening forensics officers were seen coming and going from the property along with camera crews from the latest filming of the BBC’s Real CSI docuseries.

A lone PCSO officer was stationed at the front of the house and a police officer was positioned in the rear garden through an alleyway.

West Midlands POLICE STATEMENT: ‘We are investigating after a man was found with serious injuries at a property in Warwick Road, Acocks Green, at about 2.55pm yesterday.

‘Despite the efforts of the emergency services the man in his 60s was pronounced dead a short time later.

‘Two men, who were known to the victim, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

‘A 44-year-old remains in police custody while a 62-year-old has been released on police bail.

‘Investigations are continuing with door-to-door enquiries being carried out as we work to establish the exact circumstances. ‘CCTV and doorbell footage are also being retrieved and reviewed as our enquiries continue.
