This is the shocking moment a speeding car clipped at a roundabout crashed in India.

CCTV footage shows the vehicle racing across a junction before being hit on the side by an oncoming Mahindra Thar SUV at the Indira Circle roundabout in Gujarat, on January 16.

Debris scattered on the road as the car spun out of control before crashing.

The SUV was seen driving away from the scene.

Local media reported four people in the car suffered minor injuries. There were no casualties reported.

India has one of the highest rates of road accidents in the world, with thousands of fatalities and injuries reported each year.

The poor track record is blamed on unsafe road conditions, reckless driving, inadequate enforcement of traffic laws, and a lack of awareness about road safety.
