The incident occurred on the Latur-Nanded highway near Nandgaon, in Maharashtra, India, on March 3.
CCTV footage shows the coach driving along the road when a motorcycle cuts across in front, prompting the driver to steer sharply.
The bus hits the median strip as it crosses to the other side of the road before flipping onto its side.
Four of the 42 passengers were reportedly injured and hospitalised in critical condition.
The police are investigating the crash and analysing the CCTV footage.
India has one of the highest rates of road accidents in the world, with thousands of fatalities and injuries reported each year.
The poor track record is blamed on unsafe road conditions, reckless driving, inadequate enforcement of traffic laws, and a lack of awareness about road safety.
