Firefighters rescued a driver who plunged into a canyon in California.

The driver reportedly crashed through a power pole and veered off the side of the road on Live Oak Canyon Road on Friday, January 31.

Footage shows the Orange County Fire Authority executing a low-angle rope rescue to retrieve the driver safely.

Firefighter paramedics treated the individual and transported them to a local trauma hospital.

The California Highway Patrol - Capistrano assisted in the operation.
