"Inspired by GTA, Pakistani Village Boy Builds Self-Driving Car from Scratch – Now the Talk of the Town
Script:
In a quiet village of Bagh in Pakistan’s Abbottabad district, 20-year-old Ehsan Zafar Abbasi has become a local sensation. Inspired by video games like GTA and racing simulators, this self-taught innovator has transformed his family car into a self-driving marvel—all by himself, without any formal training.
Abbasi spent six months and around $1,000 converting the car’s manual controls into a fully functional keyboard-operated system. With the press of a key, he can control the brakes, clutch, accelerator, steering, wipers, lights, indicators, horn, and even start and stop the car.
His experiments started on an open ground before he dared to test the vehicle on real roads. The sight of an empty driver's seat and a moving car left people astonished. Many recorded videos, and soon, his invention became the talk of the village and beyond.
Safety remains a priority for Abbasi, who has installed dual brakes, dual accelerator, and dual clutch controls for added security. Encouraged by overwhelming online appreciation, he now dreams of building a wireless keyboard-controlled car and hopes for sponsorship or collaboration opportunities.
With six years of hands-on experience and a self-made electronics lab at home, Abbasi is determined to push the boundaries of innovation. His journey proves that with passion and perseverance, even a small-town boy can make big dreams drive forward.
