Two women sink into mud when jeep gets stuck on trail
Two women sank into the mud when their jeep became stuck on a trail.
Footage shows the holidaymakers half-submerged in quicksand in Henan, China, on February 7.
The red off-road vehicle, a Tank 300 SUV, can be seen in front of them, jammed in the slurry.
Two men then grabbed the duo's hands and carefully pulled them back up.
The pair did not sustain any injuries from the incident, while the four-wheeler had to be towed to be removed from the mud.
Quicksand is a mixture of sand, water, and clay, creating a dense, fluid-like substance. People who get stuck in quicksand usually sink only up to their knees or waist.
When undisturbed, quicksand appears solid. However, when pressure is applied—such as stepping into it—the water and sand particles separate, causing the ground to lose its firmness and behave like a liquid.
