A hero motorcycle rider broke up traffic congestion to let an ambulance pass through smoothly.

The motorist paved the way for an emergency vehicle stuck on a busy road in Manila, the Philippines, on February 10.

Footage shows the Good Samaritan leading the way for the ambulance. He signalled other drivers to give way so the medics could reach their destination without delay.

The motorbike rider swerved between lanes, making gestures with his leg to inform the ambulance driver which lane to pass.

Medic Dave Lozada said: 'We were transporting a patient to the hospital. He was in critical condition, so we were rushing to a hospital in another city.

'He helped us, but not everyone will do that. He is a kind man.'
