This is the dramatic moment a swimmer who became stranded in a frozen lake was rescued in China.

The daring dipper, wearing a swimsuit, attempted to dive into the Houhai Lake but plunged unexpectedly into the frigid water when the ice she was standing on cracked.

This prompted a kindhearted bystander to step in and save her from being stuck in Beijing on February 19.

Footage shows the winter swimmer attempting to paddle out of the water while the heroic man ties a hoop to a rope and prepares to throw it to her.

He then tossed the rescue ring, which the woman grabbed onto before being hoisted out of the icy lake.

The rescuer can be seen rolling on the surface while struggling to pull her out.

After the laborious rescue, she inched out of the lake in a sitting position while the man untangled the rope.

She reportedly did not sustain any injuries from the incident.
