Flash floods swamped roads amid heavy rain in southern Thailand.

Footage shows a highway submerged in surging torrents in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, on February 25.

The local disaster prevention office warned that 13 districts in the province were at high risk for floods. Residents were advised to closely monitor rain and water levels.

The Thai Meteorological Department warned of more heavy rain falling in southern Thailand this week. The agency said residents should be careful of flash floods and forest runoff.

Waves in the lower Gulf of Thailand were forecasted to reach up to 10ft high during thunderstorms. Fishermen were urged to refrain from sailing.
