Flagged by expert profiling and scanned during routine checks, he was caught red-handed, aiming to sneak the drugs into Europe and pocket profits worth over ten thousand euros. This is the second bust at the airport under these beefed-up controls. Last year, officers there rounded up over forty-five others caught with narcotics—tucked on their bodies, in luggage, or even swallowed to dodge detection by authorities here and abroad. Police aren’t letting up. “I’m calling on citizens, especially parents, to keep tabs on the youth,” a spokesperson warned. “Transnational crime gangs trick them into thinking they can outsmart our security.” That’s a fantasy, though. “Our setup works,” the spokesperson said. “Those we catch—like this guy—face a brutal legal fight, thanks to the government and police cracking down on drug trafficking and criminal cash.”
